Erin Downing brings over fourteen years of family law experience to Voit Family Law. Prior to joining Voit Family Law , Erin served as a Hearing Officer in the Chester County Court of Common Pleas, where she addressed complex support matters. Erin presided over initial child and spousal support complaints, petitions to modify and addressed complex discovery issues. Erin also served as a Hearing Officer in short day support matters and custody conciliations.
Prior to serving as the Complex Support Hearing Officer, Erin worked as a staff attorney for the Chester County Domestic Relations Office for ten years, where she appeared in support court daily representing custodial parents of all income levels in spousal and child support matters.
Erin served as the chair of the Domestic Relations Association Pennsylvania’s (DRAP’s) Supreme Court Rules Committee in 2018 through 2021 and has been a frequent speaker at the state and local level regarding support law. Erin has served as a DRAP Board member for several years. Erin is also a current member of Chester County Domestic Relations Rules Committee. Erin is also a member of the Chester County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Doris J. Freed Inn of Court.
Erin is a graduate of Villanova University, where she earned a degree in Finance. After working in the corporate world, as both an auditor and within the insurance industry, for ten years, Erin returned to law school when her children were young and graduated from Widener University School of Law in December 2006.
Erin is a certified mediator and arbitrator, specializing in complex support matters.
